Drahla’s nocturnal brand of post-punk has this very elegant, gothic quality, like the most impossibly cool hybrid of Sonic Youth, Wire and Bauhaus. This Leeds-based outfit is a dangerous, spellbinding band with a deceptive gift for powerful hooks, creating a sense of menace within the slightest subtle turn. The three misfits carry a riveting dynamic where each band member is autonomous within the space of the song. On stage, Drahla is equally adept at producing eerie claustrophobia as wild, volatile outbursts.
